OCC Paediatric Clinical Experience

If you’re considering working in paediatrics, are interested in joining our post-graduate courses, or simply want to experience our unique paediatric clinic, come and join our Paediatric Clinical Experience to observe our work in action.

Clinical learning is at the heart of what we do, and our clinic offers an immersive, hands-on environment unlike any other paediatric osteopathy setting. Our approach is designed to help you develop your skills quickly, efficiently, and effectively — supporting you in becoming a confident and capable paediatric osteopath.

During your observation visit, you will be able to ask questions and gain insight from multiple perspectives — including OCC osteopaths, volunteer osteopaths, and faculty members. You will observe consultations, assessments, and/or treatments carried out by OCC osteopaths. Please note that these visits are observational only; you should not anticipate engaging in any hands-on activities such as touching, palpating, or treating patients.

We are welcoming visitors at the moment, but this is subject to availability (our clinic is running from Tuesday to Friday). New graduates and final-year students are warmly invited to attend.

Paediatric Clinical Experience options:

•          Free Half-Day Paediatric Clinical Experience: Our free clinical experience offers a unique opportunity to discover what it’s like working with children in our paediatric clinic. You’ll gain insight into the high level of clinical learning and collaborative care that form the foundation of our clinic. This is an introductory offer for those wanting to experience our clinic for half a day. There are limited places available, so please book quickly. Allocation of places will be discretionary.

•          Paid Paediatric Clinical Experience: The paid paediatric clinical experience is for those wanting a deep dive into paediatric osteopathy, providing unparalleled learning alongside expert practitioners. With the paid paediatric clinical experience, you will have the opportunity to attend the OCC’s teaching tutorial with experienced paediatric osteopaths, providing valuable insights into diagnosis and treatment planning. You will also receive a recognised CPD Certificate for your professional portfolio (7 hours for a full day, 3.5 hours for half a day). There are limited places available, so please book quickly. Allocation of places will be discretionary.

Cost: £120 (full day) / £60 (half day)
Full day: 8:45 AM – 5:30 PM
Half day: 8:45 AM – 1:00 PM (morning) or 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (afternoon)
