Description
The aim of the course is to make you feel trained, competent and confident to use dry needling/medical acupuncture the next day you are in clinic.
Course is suitable for Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Sports Therapists at Level 4 and above. Course is also suitable for final year students of the above.
Foundation Course (or equivalent) needs to be completed before the Advance Course can to attended. Please check with your insurance provider, as some providers will require that you complete both courses to get full insurance.
Foundation Course will cover the –
Rationale and history of using dry needling
Clinical implications
Contra-indications and considerations
Identify and locating myofasical trigger points
The best conditions and symptoms to use dry needling
How to combine dry needling into your treatments to develop a comprehensive approach and awareness when to use
Practical application for the following muscles/areas;
Sub occipitals
Trapezius and Levator Scapulae
Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Teres Minor, Deltoids
Thoracic and Lumbar Erector Spinae
Gluteus maximus, medius, minimus, Piriformis
Forearm extensors and Flexors
Quadriceps, Hamstrings, gastrocnemius and Soleus, Achilles tendon
Free set of acupuncture needles will be given at the end of the course for you to use the following day in practice.
Dry needling (part 2)
November 23rd and 24th
This course is designed for those who have previously attended and completed one of our Medical Acupuncture Courses.
This course will look at more technical areas in comparison to our Foundation Course as we will explore more sensitive areas. The course will also explore more into pecking, threading and will introduce the use of electric acupuncture.
